Library, by Russ

It's been a while since I posted, so I figured it was time to pull at least a little bit of my weight around here.

I take my kids to the library for story time. By and large it is pretty painless. There are a couple of hot moms there so I always have someone to look at (only the sly, not leering like a perv). Most of the time Mr. B is running around with his gaggle of girls (ahh to be three again) which leaves me to hold Miss L and converse with the other dad in the class, or if I'm real lucky, one of the moms will take pity on me and start a conversation (usually prompted by her darling child bludgeoned Mr. B).

Now, for Mr. B's class, the librarian is kind of cute. Not in the traditional sense of the word, but she does have a bit of the librarian/Catholic school girl/girl next door thing going. I'm having a hard time finding the appropriate amount of time to talk with her. (Normally, I would say hi and bye, but Mr. B absolutely adores her so we end up staying late while he attempts to talk with her. Go for those older women!)

So after you get past the normal pleasantries, how long should I talk with her without seeming like I'm hitting on her? Right now I'm being saved by Miss L demanding that she get her lunch 15 minutes ago, but that won't always be.

I'm very much the wrong person to ask, not that you specifically did, but rather than offer advice on how not to seem like a weirdo, I can only say I wish our library had hot librarians.

The staff at our award-winning library is just boring-old competent, friendly, and helpful. No one goes above and beyond the call to also be smokin' hot.

By the way, given your circumstances, you may as well just leer like a perv, because it will at least keep the ladies at arms' length where they belong, right? Then you won't have to worry about being in any compromising situations. Problem solved-- you're welcome.

If you talk to her too long, you are goint to be seen, by the other moms there, as that creepy dad who is trying to bed down the librarian...in front of his kids. Although that could be a cool title for some...not sure you want that.

It is nice though when you do stuff with the kids and have the pleasure of being surrounded by good looking women.

Look at her body language. Is she pulling back? Eyes darting around the room? Use the force and you'll know when it's time to stop talking.

I would just hit on her. But then, I'm a single dad.

One of my son's teachers is a hottie. But she's married. Doh!

Obviously she could find a million reasons to excuse herself from you. Yet, she is not....

As long as you aren't staring at her chest and you keep conversation casual - all is good. But, mommies will talk if the conversation is longer then 5 minutes (we're snotty that way)

Dan: Well, she is the lone stand out. I wouldn't classify her as "smokin'", but she is definitely leerable.

Tent: Yeah, I'm going to avoid the whole creepy dad thing. That said, it is nice to be able to have some "scenery" while spending time with the kids!

DGB: Her body language is totally into to conversation. Maybe I still have it...

Dadshouse: Where I not happily married, perhaps I would. But alas, as a SAHD, attempting to do that would put a SEVER kink in the gig that I have going.

Jules: I'm 6'4" and she is much less than that, she wouldn't even notice if I was. We do keep the conversation casual, and Miss L usually wants out pretty quickly, so the moms won't get too gossipy about me.

Choco: Bigbrother is always watching, but does he care?

I think as long as the kids are near, it wont be seen as creepy. when you look up and your child is seeing how far they can squirt the drinking fountain stream across the library and you have your eyes locked on hers, or lower...
And she and the moms nearby are giving you 'the look'. it may be creepy.
Just watch her body language, strike when the librarians iron is hot!

K first of all... Women liked to be looked at... not leered at, but promise... they are okay with being looked at. As long as YOU'RE not creepy looking! lol!

Anyway... as far as talking to the librarian. As long as she's into it and the conversations are just that... conversations. I don't get the problem? Especially if you're happily married.
