For those of you with teenagers, you may experience conversations that make about as much sense as one between a Croatian immigrant and an unhatched osprey.
The important thing to remember is that teenagers rarely mean what they say. They are, unfortunately, too timid and selfish to express themselves openly. For instance:
"I hate you!"
What they really mean: I love you, but you are frustrating my every effort to make bad choices for myself.
'You have ruined my life!"
What they really mean: I'm afraid I'm going to lose all my friends if I don't do exactly what they want.
"Whatever..."
What they really mean: You are correct of course Mom and Dad, but I'm too stubborn to to admit it.
"Can I have some money?"
What they really mean: Can I have some money?

I have a three year old, so all I hear is "NO!"
My teen daughter told me if she says "you can come" to an event, that means I shouldn't come. If she wants me to come to an event, she'll say "you don't have to come". Or something like that. I'm sure I already screwed it up.
I don't have a teenager yet. But since I'm still so young, I still am to immature to tell my parents what I really think, even though I'm married and have two rugrats of my own.
Can't wait until I grow out of THIS stage! lol!
