Teenage Kids... DON'T Suck!!!!!

As you all know...I turned 42 last week and we went to Mariah's parents house with the kids for a birthday dinner.

I don't know about all of you...but those of you who have any step children must agree that receiving a birthday card like this from your 18 year old step daughter (the same one who left me notes about how old I was)...makes it a great year!!!

As a manly man...I did not cry...but I wanted to. That was absolutely the sweetest and most meaningful gift I could have gotten (well besides the replacement Travel Scrabble...since ours was lost a few months ago.)

I would comment on the other cards and such, but I want to keep this as it is.

I will keep and cherish this card forever!

Awesome. I know that had to have made your day! It's great when steps and kids truly love and care for each other. I have been lucky enough that my husband and daughter have that same type of relationship. Congrats on being such a great Dad and having such a wonderful daughter.

You must be quite an awesome stepdad for her to write that. That is awesome.

That is incredibly sweet and thoughtful! You can keep your manly man tears in check, but I'm a lil' misty over here.

I just wanna say DUH.

From all that you've written and all that I've read, this card is obvious to me. Love in a home, no matter how crazy it is, makes a HUGE difference.

The love and silliness between you and Mariah is something that those kids will take into the future with them. You both should be proud of the example you're providing.

Happy belated birthday man.

Recently I have thought that step-kids are the best kids.

I think any dad - step or bio - would love to get a birthday card from a kid like the one Amanda gave you!

You should be proud of being her DAD!

I sprang a tear for you. That is the sweetest card any 'dad' could hope for.

That is so awesome and is a tribute to what a good man you are. I hope your ex reads this! :)

Wow! I was under the impression that most teenagers were EMO weirdos. Shows you what I know! That's an incredibly sweet birthday wish. It would make my day to get something like that.
