What is a Hot Dad to do?? Another Update

Quick update kids!!!
Well...An update on the update on the post (??????)

So yesterday Mariah and I were volunteering at the middle school (where the girl goes to school) and We are there during lunch time. I usually start by walking around the yard to find out 13 year old…so that she can come say “hi” and then we can embarrass her a bit. After finding her and starting to head back to the table that we sit at…I caught a glimpse of something bursting through the clusters of teen eating their lunches. Then I heard my name being yelled. It was her. She was bolting straight for me with her arms stretched out, yelling that she needs a hug.

Instantly I flashed to my posts here and the feedback I had gotten, then I flashed to me being hauled off to jail…after the principal and other teachers see a man hugging a pubescent teen (who he is not related to) in the middle of the school yard…Then I just ran.

The girl cut off my angle and was right behind me in a flash. She reached out, still screaming for a hug, grabbed the back of my shirt collar and repeated, “I need a hug!” I ducked out of her hold and said, “No.” Then…to my amazement she toned it down and said, “OK…can I at least get a fist bump?”

I, smiling, turned and said, “of course!”

I gave her the fist bumped and then I scurried back to Mariah’s side. As I turned around to tell Mariah, I noticed that the girl vanished…just as quickly as she appeared.

All is good…I just can’t believe the size of this girls balls…and that she was not in the least embarrassed with her behavior in front of the entire 7th grade.

I hate to be judgemental, but I wonder if there are some issues going on at home with her??? I just can't imagine running up to a parent (especially not my own) in 7th grade like that.

It's you and Howie Mandel, kings of the fist bump!

Yikes! I agree with the other comments, there must be a home situation not being dealt with.

Aaahhhhh...the fist bump is a win win for sure! Nice thinking! And to be honest, a fist bump is SO much cooler :)

Is your daughter aware of her behavior and how uncomfortable it makes you feel?

Her pursuit for your affection is very odd indeed. Just keep in close company with caution.

That child has some issues that must be dealt with immediately. Her behavior is inappropriate and could cause problems for both of you.

The image of you running for your life is hilarious!

And a fist bump was enough. Too funny.

Well done, Hot Dad!

NonF'er - yes...and I make sure to express to the kids that "all friends get the fist bump" and that is it.

Mocha - yeah...someone needs a fist bump right on the chin.

Dadshouse - ...not hilarious.

Worry when her friends are lining up for fist bumps.

Troop - I'm gonna turn into a regular boxer if this whole thing blows up.

I am not sure if I think there is anything going on at home or not. Some 7th grade girls hug everyone and anyone. If you sit and watch them all after school, they are hugging anything that walks.

I think the fist bump is the best. Great job.

BUT - I would remind my own girls if they are over at the girls house to be cautious with the step dad. It can't hurt.
I hate to think he is doing something, but you never know.

7th grade is a real hard time.. I think it is good that you left it at a fist bump though

First thing that came to mind is - that girl ain't right- seriously though. I was a goof bucket in school, and I would never have acted that way around a parent - parents are suppose to give of uncool vibes that middle schoolers run from. just sayin' it's them not you. This girl is a few cards short of a deck.

Thanks for the follow up though.

i'm so imagining this chick as a 13 year old glenn close... fatal attraction with fist pump. this little chick scares even me.

She's in desperate need of attention from men. Which is really scary.
That usually only escalates the older they get. Take it from me.
Well not from me personally. I've seen it happen in my family. Not with me...I'm still only 12.
